Displacement doesn't just take away homes. It strips away safety nets. In Kyangwali, thousands of refugees face daily emergencies: orphans with no one to provide for them, disabled individuals unable to access services, elderly people too weak to fetch water or firewood, victims of gender-based violence with nowhere to turn, families whose homes burned down with no resources to rebuild, and children at risk of abuse, exploitation, and trafficking.
P4T provides emergency relief and protection services to the most vulnerable community members through child protection systems, emergency food and shelter assistance, access to clean water, support for gender-based violence, and infrastructure development while building local capacity for a strong justice and accountability system.
Detecting and Preventing Child Abuse
In 2016, P4T established a community-based child protection network with trained agents who move through villages on bicycles, identifying at-risk children, documenting abuse cases, educating caregivers about child rights, and referring severe cases to authorities.
We connect survivors to psychosocial support, legal services, safe shelters, and medical care. In 2025, P4T partnered with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in the ICLA Project, reaching over 5,000 people with Protection Information, Counselling, and Legal Assistance throughout Kyangwali Refugee Settlement.
Preventing Starvation in Crisis
P4T has previously provided emergency food support to the most vulnerable. We distributed food relief to vulnerable households with support from Pious Projects of America under the coordination of our International Medical Mission Mobilizer, Dr Tayseer Alkareem.
Keeping Girls in School
P4T distributed sanitary pads to school-going girls and women throughout Kyangwali Refugee Settlement (2021) in partnership with Pious Projects of America. We continue to provide dignity kits in partnership with KUMI Workshop at School for Life Foundation, and the Period Poverty Project by Zamzam Foundation.
This ensures that girls attend school every day of the month with dignity and confidence.

Ending 22 Years Without Safe Drinking Water
P4T constructed 12 water wells across the settlement with support from our International Medical Mission Volunteers, providing clean water access to over 20,000 people.
These aren't just wells; they're health interventions that reduce waterborne disease, education enablers that free children's time for school, and economic opportunities that allow women to focus on income generation instead of water collection.
Rebuilding After Disaster
P4T responds to disasters by constructing emergency shelters for victims, providing materials for home rebuilding, distributing essential household items, and offering psychosocial support to trauma survivors.
We built five shelters for victims of arson and gender-based violence, and also for weak elders in our community.
Partnerships for Community Growth
P4T provided community access to organisations and individuals that constructed and renovated places of worship, built latrines, and established community gathering spaces for meetings, training, and social events.
